“Build a Better World” is the theme this year at Plymouth Public Library’s Summer reading program, and so fitting that the library celebrates and honors three organizations that are helping provide literacy training, affordable housing, and sustainable, local food.  In addition to delicious tea sandwiches, scones and teas, stories of success and achievement will be shared by representatives from the Literacy Program of Greater Plymouth, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth, and the Plymouth Farmers’ Market at Plimoth Plantation.  In keeping with the two summer read books, Victoria and Game of Thrones, there will be a Victorian theme to the party.  While costumes are not required, the event will provide an opportunity to wear “garden party attire” and to enjoy an afternoon in the Dr. Richard M. Shiff garden, all while supporting the valuable work of the featured organizations.

Registration is required. See Calendar of Events to register. Refreshments are provided courtesy of Brookdale of Plymouth Beach and O’Donovan’s of Plymouth. For more information call Tom Cummiskey, Outreach/Senior Services Librarian, at 508-830-4250 or TTY 508-747-5882.
