The Pilgrim Progress is entering its 101st year this year! Instituted by the Town of Plymouth in 1921 as part of the 300 year anniversary of the Landing of the Pilgrims, the Pilgrim Progress continues to honor the faith and courage of its Pilgrim founders. It is based on an actual eye-witness account of a Dutch visitor who observed the Pilgrims gathering for worship in 1627. During the Pilgrim Progress, each individual represents one of the 51 Pilgrims who survived that first winter in 1621 when half their number died. Join us and follow along each Friday evening in August as we step off at 6 PM from the Mayflower Society House and continue past Plymouth Rock, up Leyden Street to the top of Burial Hill where a short Pilgrim worship service will take place at the site of the original fort/meetinghouse where the Pilgrims gathered for worship. The Pilgrim Progress also takes Place Thanksgiving morning at 10 AM.
