Team Hope is walking to increase the public awareness of the devastation of Huntington’s disease and the ongoing research to find a cure. To give hope to those that Huntington Disease took away their ability to walk – and more.
Katie Mullin organized the first walk here in Plymouth three years ago. The walk is at Nelson Park and not only raises awareness, but there’s a fantastic raffle. Things everyone who likes Plymouth will like – ferry passes, golf, weekend stays in this historic location. The raffle is to raise funds for research. HD takes out whole families – a cure needs to be found.
Plymouth Board of Heath and the Dept. of Public Heath encourage walking as essential for healthy living. This is a great way to get in your daily walk…while helping raise awareness of Huntington’s Disease, a disorder that mimics ALS, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It’s called “the cruelest disease known to man,” and is 100% fatal.
