Come enjoy author Katherine Dimancescu’s engaging presentation about her search for early colonial maternal ancestors in southern New England and the unexpected surprises along the way including her Mayflower ancestry. Be sure to bring a notepad! Attendees will benefit from her discussion of genealogical research methods, resources, and experts in England and the United States who helped her add branches to her maternal family tree. Prepare to learn and be captivated as she shares selected stories about what transpired when doing genealogical research on her ancestors’ farms, on battlefields in England and southern New England, in archives and museums, and in historic houses.

Ms. Dimancescu’s genealogical research discoveries and historical adventures have made their way into print in her two non-fiction narratives The Forgotten Chapters: My Journey into the Past (published in 2013) and Denizens: A Narrative of Captain George Denison and His New England Contemporaries (coming in 2017). She received a B.A. from Denison University in Ohio and was awarded master’s degrees from The University of Westminster and The London School of Economics and Political Science.
