Traverse rolling wooded trails through Falmouth’s Town Forest. Enjoy scenic views of Long Pond, a kettle pond formed at the edge of the glacial moraine. Sturdy shoes, plenty of water, sunscreen and tick repellent are strongly recommended.
The Cape is a known tick habitat! Poison ivy is also abundant in the woods and along the sides of the trail. You may consider wearing long pants. Meet at 9:45 for trail talk. Hike begins promptly at 10 AM. PICNIC LUNCH to follow hike. Bring your own main course plus a salad, dessert or snacks to share with the group.
Hike directions: From the Bourne Bridge (Cape side)- Rt. 28S to Brick Kiln exit From Rt.151W take the Rt.28S exit. Follow Rt.28S to Brick Kiln exit. Then, bear L off the exit ramp. Travel 1.2 miles. R at traffic light onto Gifford St. for 1.1 m. Look for anchor chain fence on R. Turn R into Goodwill Park. Pass the 1st parking lot, continue on paved road. Park in lot on R near Grews Pond and covered picnic area. Heavy rain cancels.

Pre-registration with the AMC is not required for this activity. However, you may wish to contact the leader(s) if you have any questions. Dogs are not allowed on AMC hikes.
If you would like to join us for a pre-hike breakfast or cup of coffee, meet us at 8:45 before the hike at Crabapple’s Restaurant in Falmouth (551 Palmer Avenue, aka Route 28), which is very close to the meeting place for the hike. (It appears to be right on the west side of Goodwill Park.)
