Things to do In Plymouth MA: Hike, Bike, Camp!

Old Halfway Pond Road runs into the part of the forest where they are currently doing controlled burns.  It also runs past one of the prettiest parts of the forest, running by Wing’s Hole and the Sawpit.

Depending on whether and where the burn scheduled for this Wednesday actually takes place, we may want to re-route.

The new fence around the residential area for MASAC  (at the old MCI Plymouth) should be complete, so that will be interesting to see.  (The facility entrance is along Circle Drive and we will not be hiking near to it but you can take a look if you pass by.)

Our hikes generally go for about two hours. Bring water and snacks and wear good shoes for hiking.

Optional meeting first for breakfast at 8 or just a cup of coffee at the Panera Bread near to Route 3’s Exit 5 off Long Pond Road. (Shopping center with IHOP, Texas Roadhouse, etc.)  (We can help you find the hike start if you follow us.)

Starting next week, our weekly hikes will be moved to Thursday, so that we can hike with MSSF interpreter and Visitor Services Supervisor Dan Byrnes. (We will start the first one at the headquarters at 9am on Thursday the 6th.)
