Michael Brophy is a nationally known, professional genealogical researcher, heir search specialist, and lecturer from the Boston area. He was the first Treasurer of the New England of Association of Professional Genealogists. Mike earned an MBA degree from Suffolk University and a BBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Mike was featured on the Irish TV series Dead Money, a genealogy TV show about heir searchers. Mr. Brophy was hired to conduct research for the television program Who Do You Think You Are? and Ancestry.com.

We are thrilled to have him at the library to show tweens and teens how to start out researching their ancestry, some cool mobile apps they can use, and how to find and use all the records out there. Whether you have Irish roots or not, Michael will share fantastic information for getting your family tree together. Contact the Young Adult Librarian at jenniferj@ocln.org for more information about this program.

Michael Brophy’s appearance is brought to you with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
