Are you not very computer savvy? Do you find searching the Internet a bit frustrating at times? We have the healthy solution for you with our Outreach/Medical Librarian, Tom Cummiskey, who will show you exactly how to find reliable, current and easy to understand information on a host of medical topics. The class is hands-on, working in teams of two, with interesting examples from history and literature. For the Fall season, we’ll take a look at fall allergies, “fall-prevention” and the health benefits of cranberries as we discover a variety of sites from the National Library of Medicine. Free print-outs are available on medical topics, as well as refreshments.
This Consumer Health class is funded through a Health Literacy grant from the South Shore Community Partners in Prevention, CHNA-23. This project is funded in part by the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, under Cooperative Agreement Number UG4LM012347 with the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester.
