Book discussion (and light brunch) to celebrate that 2020 is the 1 00th anniversary of women getting the right to vote.

BOOK: The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote by Elaine Weiss
Copies of the book are available one month in advance of the event for loan at the library.

Weiss recounts the battle over ratification of the 19th Amendment and the final push for the last state to vote, Tennessee. Over six weeks in the summer of 1920, the showdown to win voting rights for all women involved suffragettes, “Antis”, politicians, and businessmen who used bribes and any means necessary to sway the legislature.

Light brunch fare served. This is a free event (as are all events at the library).

If you are on Meetup (it’s free to join) the Things to Do In Plymouth MA Meetup Group is featuring this event (www.PlymouthMeetup.com)
