Chat with a Cat! Converse with a Caterpillar! Follow the White Rabbit and be a guest at a Mad Tea Party! The Queen of Hearts has kept strict rule over her subjects, and it’s up to YOU to make a difference! Adventure with Alice as she helps the creatures of Wonderland save their home and restore their land to a place of peace and harmony.
Based on the beloved novel by Lewis Carroll, this adaptation of Alice in Wonderland was created by students in Bridgewater State University’s Children’s Theatre Tour course, under the direction of Dr. Colleen Rua. The class of sixteen Theatre and Theatre Education majors worked for fourteen weeks to develop and write the script, which introduces newly discovered storylines to the familiar tale. Themes of environmentalism, celebrating difference, the importance of family and self-discovery make this immersive adaptation of Alice a family-friendly performance for all ages.
Immersive theatre invites audience members to become characters themselves, exploring the story up close as they travel with actors throughout a variety of spaces and help to create the story as it happens! Immersive theatre engages all five senses – audience members see, hear, touch, taste and smell the theatrical world around them. Become a part of the action and enter a world of wonder and fun this summer!
Alice in Wonderland is produced in collaboration between the Bridgewater State University Theatre Department and Bridgewater’s Arts for Youth Program and will be performed at historic Plimoth Plantation, on the grounds of the Hornblower home and gardens.
